Meet the Team
David Mainman, M.D.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Mainman attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine. He then received his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an Ob/Gyn residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Mainman practiced in South Carolina for 12 years prior to moving to Tucson. He has particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic robotic surgery for hysterectomy, myomectomy and pelvic reconstructive surgery for treatment of pelvic floor prolapse and in-office no-incision Essure® sterilization and endometrial ablation to stop heavy periods. Dr. Mainman is active in teaching robotic surgery both locally here in Tucson and nationally. He moved his family to Tucson in December of 2005 and helped start Desert Bloom Obstetrics & Gynecology.
He is an avid bicyclist and, when away from work, can be found on his bike or with his three children hiking, swimming or playing tennis.
Katy Hoeft, PA-C
Physician Assistant Katy Hoeft was born in Milwaukee but after a few moves settled in Tucson. She attended the University of Arizona where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences. She was a student athletic trainer for the U of A Athletic Department. Her proudest moment at U of A was being a part of the 1993 National Champion Softball Team. She received her Master’s of Medical Science in 1997 while attending PA school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been practicing in Family Practice and Internal Medicine for the past 16 years. Her focus has been in women’s health and preventive medicine.
In her free time she prefers to be cycling, running, playing tennis, or spending time with family. She is a former triathlete and has completed two Ironman competitions. She also volunteers for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team. They travel the country playing able bodied softball teams to raise awareness “That life without limb is limitless”.
Taber Bingham, FNP-C
Born in Prescott, Arizona, but raised abroad in Saudi Arabia, Family Nurse Practitioner Taber Bingham has planted roots in the Desert Bloom practice. In previous years, Taber worked for Carondelet St. Josephs servicing in-patient obstetrical patients. She delighted in providing high quality antenatal, intra-partum, and post-partum care for Tucson women experiencing uncomplicated or high-risk pregnancy and birth. Taber not only has a passion for the process of pregnancy and birth, but she has an overall love for increasing the health and well-being of women experiencing all stages of life. Recent interest include increasing comfort and quality of life for women experiencing peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Grand Canyon University with her focus on Women’s Health.
Taber finds great love in raising her five children and enjoys a good run when her time allows.
